Why this site exists

Many readers stop at a single Gita verse on social media. The meaning stays half-formed, and the next verse arrives without context. Sanatan Gyan exists to close that gap — reading with the chapter, knowing a deity beyond an image, and taking a festival past a calendar date into its story.

We do not ask anyone to finish the whole book in a night. Read the key to one chapter, sit with two verses, and if a festival is near, learn its custom in the language of home. Wisdom holds when it meets ordinary work.

Three streams

Geeta Gyan follows the eighteen chapters in order. Each chapter carries the traditional summary plus our reading guide — what to notice, and one small practice. Selected verses have a longer essence and a life example written for this site.

The deities section shows relationships from the Trimurti to the avatars, so names do not stand alone. The festivals section joins story, reason, rite, and region, and the calendar lists upcoming dates.

How to begin

If you are new, begin with chapter two — that is the seed of the Gita. If a festival is near, read its story first. If a deity’s name is spoken daily in your home, open that page and follow the web of relationships.
